ABOUT
ME
Originally from Detroit, Danny started making films when he was five, and he's simply never stopped. Over the last two decades, he's made a name for himself as a director, editor and writer in the film, commercial and music video arenas. His first film, "Fairytales for the Fatherless: a visual album," came out in 2017 to rave reviews, and he has since been a regular at festivals as both a director and an editor.
Throughout the 2020/2021 lockdown, Danny found ways to safely direct and edit a handful of music videos, as well as a number of short films, a couple dozen commercials and created a series he calls "The Day Off Shorts," each made in one day, on his days off.
He worked very closely with director/actor Michael Stahl-David on his award-winning short film "We Win" which starred William Jackson Harper and premiered at SXSW 2018, won Best Screenplay at RIIFF 2018 and was later released as a Vimeo Staff Pick. "Remember When" directed by Paola Ossa starring Shakira Barrera, Aiden Medina and Olivia Perez has fostered nominations and awards for best short and best actress at a variety of festivals, an official selection at BLIFF, Tallgrass, Key West, Official Latino, River Bend, Woods Hole, DWFLA, UrbanWorld, and more. Other shorts and projects that Danny has edited have premiered at RIIFF (Summer Fridays, Pure), New York Film Festival (The Actor), and the Omaha Film Festival (The Bishop). He edited the first two episodes of "Beyond the Record" - a docu-series done by Guinness Book of Records and Facebook Watch - as well as a short info-series on Pfizer's Gene Therapy techniques.
Other past work includes his sitcom pilot "Highlighters," two award-winning sketch series, "Living Thru the Lens" and "Irritable Becca Syndrome," comedic short film "The Werewolf Hunter," and a wide array of commercial work for clients such as Walmart, SeatGeek, Comcast, No Kid Hungry, Microsoft, Pandora, Subway, Billboard, Violife, The Love Vote, and more. He writes and consults for Michigan United Cerebral Palsy, Laia Alen, Youngs Market Co., and a range of other clients; and he occasionally teaches acting, writing and filmmaking.
