Writer • Director • Editor
Originally from Detroit, Danny started making films when he was five, and he's simply never stopped. Over the last two decades, he's made a name for himself as a director, editor and writer in the film, commercial and music video arenas. His first film, "Fairytales for the Fatherless: a visual album," came out in 2017 to rave reviews, and he has since been a regular at festivals as both a director and an editor.
Most recently, during the 2020 lockdown, he created and produced an on-going series he calls "The Day Off Shorts" (each made in one day, on his days off). And he has released 3 new music videos, with more to come.
He worked very closely with director/actor Michael Stahl-David on his short film "We Win" (filling the roles of editor and first assistant director) which starred William Jackson Harper and premiered at SXSW 2018, won Best Screenplay at RIIFF 2018 and was recently released as a Vimeo Staff Pick. Danny, this past year, edited "Remember When" directed by Paola Ossa (currently screening at a number of festivals, starring Shakira Barrera, Aiden Medina and Olivia Perez) as well as "Summer Fridays" (RIIFF Premiere), "Pure" (RIIFF Premiere), "The Bishop" (Omaha Film Festival), "Until Next Time," and "The Actor" (New York Short Film Fest, starring Katie Kopajtic, Lynn Cohen, and Cathy Curtin). He edited the first two episodes of "Beyond the Record" - a docu-series done by Guinness Book of Records and Facebook Watch as well as a short info-series on Pfizer's Gene Therapy techniques.
His past work also includes his sitcom pilot "Highlighters," two award-winning sketch series, "Living Thru the Lens" and "Irritable Becca Syndrome," comedic short "The Werewolf Hunter," and a wide array of commercial work (from SeatGeek to Comcast to Wander Beauty). He writes and consults for Young’s Market Company, United Cerebral Palsy, and a range of other clients; and he occasionally teaches acting, writing and filmmaking for schools in New York, Stockholm, and Detroit.
