Danny Ward | Filmmaker | New York City

Danny started making films when he was five, and he's simply never stopped. He writes. He directs. He edits. He even still uses his Lego figures from time to time (check out his 2020/21 lockdown project, "The Day Off Shorts").

Whether it’s short films, commercials, feature films, or music videos, whether he’s directing, editing, running the camera, teaching or simply consulting, Danny loves what he does and brings his passion and his lifetime of experience to every production.

He currently has a number of films and music videos circulating a wide variety of festivals, including the RIIFF '22 World Premiere of his own latest short film, SUPERMAN, starring Rocco Sisto, Michael Cuomo and Christine Spang.

His latest edit with director Paola Ossa, The Burning Young’s “Quiet Nights” music video, was an Official Selection at SXSW ’22 and Aesthetica '22. “Talk to me in Silence” a short film directed by Julia Ngeow, starring Christina Toth (Orange is the New Black, Strut) and Katherine Wallach (Goodfellas, Gangs of New York) continues to foster awards (Best Short - LA Short Film Festival, Best Dramatic Short - Atlanta ShortFest, Best Actress - NIIFF). And his music video for Mike Ward’s “Content” (which he animated, directed and designed) was nominated for Outstanding Music Video at the Detroit Music Awards.

Danny edited Michael Stahl-David's "We Win" which premiered at SXSW and won best screenplay at RIIFF starring WIll Jackson Harper (Love Life, The Good Place, The Resort) and Ana Nogiuera; "Remember When" by Paola Ossa starring Shakira Barrera (Glow, What Breaks the Ice, Shameless) and Olivia Perez (In The Heights, Dash & Lily); "Summer Fridays" with Chloe Berk and Blair Baker (Best Actress RIIFF/Short of the Week); and more. He's directed and edited dozens of music videos, including his first feature film, "Fairytales for the Fatherless," a visual album released in 2017.

In addition to his film and music video work, he also works with a number of commercial clients such as: Walmart, No Kid Hungry, SeatGeek, Guinness World Records, Comcast, Pfizer, Pandora, Microsoft, Laia Alan, Michigan United Cerebral Palsy, The Love Vote and more.
